Professor Roseanne Harris is the head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Discovery Health and Adjunct Professor in the School of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of the Witwatersrand (her alma mater). She was President of the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 2016/17 and President of the International Actuarial Association in 2022. She has worked as a health actuary in South Africa for over 30 years and has been teaching postgraduate students since 1998.
She has published peer-reviewed papers on topics including wellness incentives, HIV management, health promotion, ethical decision making and deep learning applications. Roseanne was awarded the Murray Medal for outstanding contribution to the South African actuarial profession in 2023.
